It's a bit like comparing a parochial artist (Lichtenstein) to one who got an enormous amounts of shit for his work, public persona etc. Warhol hasn't technically revolutionized painting anymore than others did, but he certainly brought pop art to the fore like no other artist at the time, and that could explain why his personality was deeply hated by other artists.

I would guess that Raymond Pettibon, Mike Kelly, Robert Longo, etc.. are all influenced by Warhol. Sonic Youth were influenced by him (I saw some Kim Gordon art once in Gotebourg, Sweden)

Anyone trying to do artistic things in a commercial field (or the other way around) is influenced by Warhol.

What about Damien Hirst, Jenny Saville, Gavin Turk, and those other british artists from the Saatchi collection? That's all very Warholian in my opinion:
