i was brought up on kate bush to the extent that my father had a cassette of never forever playing permanantly in the car when i was a kid, and i grew to hate that album and still do, however i just discovered hounds of love and was somewhat blown away. i want more, but i want to know what i should get next and is the rest of her back catalogue more like hounds of love or never forever or different again...ramble ramble...

You and Kate Bush ought to die. Both of you. And your dad.

Invisible Sun by Police strucks a childhood chord too. Sting ought to have died a long time ago, though.

The rest of her catalog is significantly more like Never Forever than Hounds of Love. The Dreaming is the one that's the most "in between" the two. I never heard her last two albums though.
I like her and respect her, and haven't really missed not listening to her in years either. |

I'd be perfectly happy if he just got a contract not to write another album and retired with his millions and his beautiful wife and disgruntled chef. I don't think the Police ever made a bad record though. |

Hounds of Love is a classic and one of the very finest albums of the eighties.
She's never done anything as strong at any point in her career in my opinion. http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/kate_bush Pi (2005) was not a disappointment, but The Sensual World and The Dreaming are probably a bit better. Or you could always get The Whole Story or This Woman's Work vols 1 and 2. |

^^^^I agree with atari2600 about The Dreaming - a great album indeed.

Im pretty sure that listening to Kate Bush is what made my mind the mess that it is, or it is at least one of the contributing factors. So I would advise you to stay away. Run child, run away QUICK QUICK to the gingerbread house with you
Listen to me, listen to me, baby. Listen, baby, help me, baby! Help me, help me! Listen to me, talk to me Wake up, child! Pay attention! stick with me and we should make the night, and see your little light's alive |

yknow sometimes the boundaries being pushed can be broken beyond repair! kate bush is a unique and talented artist and hounds of love is a classic record.... not all of us are blinkered in liking music outside the one genre which we supposedly deem as "acceptable". |
