You don't have to, though, really.. do you? If you really wanted to, you could gobble down a big fat greasy chicken wing and savour the beautiful texture of the fried skin as it slides across your tongue, Colonel Sander's spices exploding, flourishing in a hullabaloo of FLAVOUR!!! |

around 60 hours without sleeping in between. done that at least twice.
in contrast, the longest i've ever slept "continuously" was about 28 hours, waking up 2-3 times in between but not leaving the bed. |

i think the longest i ever slept in one go was 18 hours. that was after some pretty heavy duty stuff (travelling, drinking, partying etc).

Over a week when I was at college. I would then just collapse and sleep for a couple of days. I wouldn't and couldn't do it again now, though.

Nature prevailed and I fell asleep at about 4.
I noticed near the end that if I stared at something it wobbled and moved around a bit, and also if I looked at a patterned rug for example there'd be tiny sparks and the occasional black dot moving around. Over a week would really make life weird.

The only difference was that I didn't remember any dreams. I was woken up by a maintenance guy knocking at my door, and it was really fast, as soon as I woke I replied to the knocking nd got straight out of bed. Quote:
That sounds like a potential album title, book title, name of a piece of art etc. Can you link me to some information about neurone death as a result of lack of sleep? Wikipedia didn't even mention it as a consequence of sleep deprivation.

With me it's always the exact opposite. I tend to remember dreams much better whenever I'm catching up sleep after staying awake for too long. I usually don't even remember my dreams when I sleep normal times.
