See, i go with movements, i first got into the whole hippy thing because of my parents, then it was the Grunge movement where i first discovered Sonic Youth. Then the Riot Grrrl movement, then i had a very big and yucky sad music phase which i am out of now, thankfully.

His life can't be that bad, he's married and he has money.
Unless he has some sort of Mental Health Problem, which is very probable. In which case he should be taking his meds and staying the hell away from drugs and alcohol. |

I listened today to Hold That Tiger while driving to work, and I was in love with them. I have not listened to them in such a long time.

I've been listening to more SY recently, too. Mostly Sonic Nurse and Goo. I think it was because I drove across California with my brother and he just got into Trees Outside so we played that a lot.
Anyway, Disappearer is a fucking cool ass song. Same with Kim Gordon & The Arthur Doyle Hand Cream and Peace Attack. |

I've been really into the three 4LP box sets since about last June--Goo, Dirty, and Daydream. I taped them to cassette, and they're never too far from reach. They're good for a music fix when I can't think of what else to play, and I love the covers and extras, especially on Daydream Nation. I love their version of Within You Without You, for example. I also really dig the extra artwork in those boxes.

...i hate that fucking guy. with his fucking chubby-ass cheeks. it drives me nuts. no, in truth i love the guy, he just isn't as prolific when it comes to side projects or solo stuff as the others. i wish there was more, that's all. i always wish for more sy related stuff... so really a list of my favorite bands should read: any band involving any member (current or former) of sonic youth any band involving mick collins any band involving ian svenonius any band involving cut chemist
