i just got a nikon d70s, and perhaps i am prematurely frustrated by my inability to control exposure the way i did with my cheapass pentax knockoff w/ a 50mm lens (i rarely used anything else).
there seem to be too many goddamn automatic presets i'm not interested in, no visible light meter to speak of, and rather narrow ISO settings-- i used to load the camera with iso 100 and even 50 (velvia slides i think they were) & got great pictures. now i'm stuck between 200-1600 and the auto-everything drives me nuts. any advice from more seasoned digital photographers? toxic johnny? rocky? anybody else? all i want is some fucking BEAUTY. instead im getting crappy snapshots that look meh. currently using the 18-70 AF-S Nikkor kit lens.... thanks! --- FUCKING CHRIST-- I MEANT TO TYPE "DSLR CAMERAS" BUT FUCKED THE THREAD TITLE. (im having a fucked up day) |

oh, nevermind, the pictures turned out a lot better than expected once i uploaded them into a computer & saw them on a big monitor. it was the damn lcd screen on the camera that threw me. thanks for nothing!
