that is exactly the line that makes me hate it
I find it to be the most insipid, stupid, meaningless, weak, pathetic couplet in all of rock music. the WORST

VELOURIA is such a beautiful song, especially the slow tripped out version. Anyway, Surfa Rosa is my favorite for sure...it's their prime I believe...
(and weezer covered it and it wasnt half bad) |

yeah I honestly think doolittle might be their worst. It's nice to hear there are other people who don't constantly put it on a pedestal. and trompe le monde is easily their best.

Really? Dissing Doolittle and calling it their worst?
How can anybody listen to it and not say it's their most consistent song by song? Surfer Rosa has a few "eh" songs (Tony's Theme, Oh My Golly), Bossanova is a just a drop in quality, and Trompe, while awesome, kinda loses steam by the end. Compare Doolittle: Debaser, Tame, Wave of Mutilation, I Bleed, Here Comes Your Man. Some of the finest Pixies songs and it's only the first five songs. The only bad song on the record is Silver I think. But to each their own.... ~Jeremy~

Doolittle is the best.
Surfer Rosa is the less good. |

Bossanova and Come On Pilgrim are the best for me.
BBC sessions and The B-Side File bootleg are awesome too
