But on the other hand, coins ruin whatever they're kept in (pocket or wallet) incredibly quickly, whereas notes do no damage at all.

i hate to have a pocket full of coins, sounds like a rattle.
i favor the abolition of the penny, a useless coin. round it all out to the nearest 20th of a dollar & use nickels. dollar coins would be nice. 5 dollar coins even. |

Is it the US$ or the Euro that the notes are all the same size? That's bloody stupid, that is.

mostly american, but i tend to go after other countries as i visit
for the pirate coin, i say get it appraised, check your area for coin collectors, i have no experience in that area, but that seems to be the way to go, escially if it is worth in the mid to high 3 figures http://www.coin-newbies.com/FAQ/faqappraise.html this is a little link that could help |

ah ok... i've seen one of those sold for $250 on ebay but mine is all encrusted-- supposedly it was fished out from the bottom of the ocean and i dont know if i should have it cleaned with one of those ultrasound things or if i should leave it alone.
it's from 1808, minus the holes, it has some green spots on... anyway, thanks for that link, i guess i have to take it to somebody in albuquerque after all. i always forget. |

you can get $1 coins but they are the size of a dinner plate and weigh as much as a large grapefruit. thing i like about europe is the history, we are more stylish, sophisticated and more accepting etc. oh and cheese.

- The pronunciation of 'Oedipal' - Ireland (people, whiskey, music) - The Europe-wide ability to make a decent beer, as opposed to the North American fashion of taking all the good bits and running away from them with your fingers in your ears. - The weird bits of England that don't make any sense (Mummers, Morris Dancing, Darky Days) - The ability of a continent to have a cultural memory that goes back more than ten minutes; also, monarchy and the castles therewith. - Pre-20th Century art. - Pre-20th Century literature. - Classical/ Renaissance/ Baroque/ Early music. Actually, pretty much everything about life I like exists in legions in this continent. But then I've spent nearly no time in my life outside of this wonderful continent. East Africa, South Asia, the Middle East and the Far-East are all on the cards, and I'm obliged to visit the West Coast of North America sometime soon.

The BBC English accent is still my favourite accent ever.
Most people assume that because I'm welsh I have a welsh accent, I love the shock when I tell people i'm actually welsh. I love the general feeling of Europe and of course the diversity.
