Yeah, but did those other bands, that nobody has ever even heard of BTW, then get quiet again? I don't think so.
Green Day = extreme originality

Dynamics = lots of quiet-to-loud like everybody attributes to the Pixies for a reason that is still unclear to me, it being an obvious element of rock music since it began (haven't these people ever heard the Bee Gees' b-side "Close Another Door"? Sheesh! Get with it, people!).

I still like to listen to pre-nimord Green Day. It is just great pop-punk. But now, yeah if there is a worthy example for total sellout they are.

They are number 3 on the sell-out list.
1. AFI 2. Sugar Ray 3. Green Day

Like em or not, they are a sell out. The changed their sound solely to make more money.
I never liked Sugar Ray, but they did the same thing.

I wouldn't call AFI total sell-out, but December Underground is a travesty compared to the first 4 or 5 albums.

No shit, Buddy Holly did this sometimes, Syd Barret did it well, and so did so so so many bands before... It pisses me off when ppl talk about loud, quiet etc like frank black invented it and kurt cobain was the last to ever be allowed to solidify the legit 'method' of it all. fuck off I'm doing it with my band in a new way keep pushin forward even brian wilson did it he used his voice and his bands voices franky used his distortion plus his squeeky voice kurt used his shit I use my shit you use yr shit my milk is yr shit yr shit is my milk what the fuck am I even ranting about anymore GREENDAY? WHY EVEN GIVE THEM A FUCKING THREAD!? WHO EVEN BUYS THE ALBUM TO GIVE IT A SHOT!? AND THEN BRINGS THE TOPIC TO SONIC YOUTH GOSSIP!!!!! fuck man. I'm about to start a Knickleback thread...because they piss me off, I can't believe...like...a band like that is famous...ya know? I mean...oh man....KNICKLEBACK!!!!! really.... noone gives a shit anymore about the mainstream or anything, it's all equal...just listen to waht u want to |

deaddildo, this was supposed to be just a fun thread. making fun of green day in their suckitude. it was turned semi-serious because apparently people still like them. and they are among us. which offends me

you need to calm down. NOW. green day are about punk rock, mudpits and girls kissing other girls. what's the fucking problem here? on topic: I've heard that "BJA" has a strong odor and rarely bathes. althought this is unsubstantiated on my part, I find it highly likely. |
