I first saw something like this on Blue Oyster Cult albums way back in the day:

I believe it's referred to as the, "Questioning Cross."

I was searching the above when I stumbled on the below......not really questioning the cross more so than questioning Suchfriends being a Saint or a Virgin throwing gang signs.
