Good gravy, that's a good choice.
Go listen to Shake It Up (1981) next. I know you have it. Love the experimental thread hee hee. |

bah! take out Eno/Fripp - Evening Star! One of my absolute favorites!
-- the first two the Cars albums (mind-blowingly) are even better, yeah, but i'm in love with this fourth one at the moment. It must be played loud! ...man, what guitarist (with both vast creative & technical talent) is more underrated than Elliot Easton? |

should I make this a group contribution (I've been slack for awhile now) to make it easier?
I do love Heartbeat City, but I'd have to rank it fourth or so (too little Easton)...that's how amazingly strong this band's catalogue is. |

whatever you feel like, although those are records to be heard. hbc i like alright, most of the songs are really strong, what turns me a bit off is the production, it really sounds sterile and crappy; not unlike many records of the eighties where they tried digital shit to make them sound futuristic. case in point: the title track, good song but the way the harmonies are recorded and mix together is very of putting. i really don't know why devo and the b52s are so recognized today and yet the cars have not enjoyed more of a revival. |

Todd Rundgren tours with them (minus Ric (wants no part of it) & Ben (R.I.P.)) now as The New Cars...I've never heard one single bit of their music or covers though. |
