That appears on my list of things to never do again.
I was playing barefood in an outdoor amphitheater.
It wasn't wet inside, but the place was old, and I bet the wiring in the place wasn't really grounded.
Everytime I went up to the mic to sing, I got a shock that didn't quite knock me on my ass, but left me dazed no less.
We only played a couple songs. I had to stop.
Afterwards, I was so nauseated that I passed out.
Never, never again.

I think it is fine for accomplished people. But I hate seeing people do it on reality shows like American Idol or Rockstar: (crappy reunited band).
