thats a seriously bad idea to legalize hard drugs, that stuff can kill people, especially tourists that haven't done it before. What happens when they go home to other countries addicted to heroin? robberies? burglary? murders?
I have no problem with legal weed, shrooms and maybe lsd but heroin? that's fucked up |

the law still needs to get past the senate. drugs are not legal yet.
and the maximum amount of possession is going to be 250 grams. so the only way to penalize somebody on drug charges would be a) have more than a quarter of kilo or b) been caught right in the middle of a transaction. basically, everyone could be a dealer and get away with it. |

Watch the price of heroin and cocaine in So Cal and Texas plummet and the DEA's budget go up.
Anyone that would vote on that bill is a scumbag in my opinion. I fucking hate drugs, they ruin communities. |

Exactly. Here in Canada, if you get caught with less than 5g, they let you off but if you're dealing then they'll take action (at least in my area). But legalizing heroine is a bad choice IMO.

DRUGS DON'T RUIN COMMUNITIES, PEOPLE DO!!! alcohol is as bad as any of them. I don't think people are going to run out and try all of these drugs just because of this. I don't think it will change much and realistically until they legalize the sale, terrible drug wars and violent crimes will continue. I will agree that it's a tough decision....I don't use or condone use of the hard drugs but at the same time drug wars are awful and devastating in their own right and govt's are trying to figure out ways to get a grip on them. If they legalized them entirely and set limits as to where they can be sold then all of this violent crime bordering Texas with rival gangs over drug trade would probably cease. It's a tough answer to figure out though, that's for sure!
