This winter I've been waking up with my ears clogged up. After a hot shower and being frustrated for an hour or two, they'd seem to clear up.
But the other day I just couldn't take it anymore because it happened when I was trying to sleep. So I got some earwax removal aid. (foaming drops) So I drop them in, they foam, then I'm supposed to flush out with warm water. It seems to work a little bit, but I still have clogged up ears. My right ear was open yesterday and my left ear was closed then I bit into dinner and boom, my right ear closes up. Any advice before I go to the doctor? You know, like "drink plenty of hot tea," that sort of stuff? |

q tips don't actually work. they push the wax in deeper.
try pouring some hydrogen peroxide in there, with your head tilted so it doesn't spill out, or you can find some place locally that does this thing called candling. look it up.

According to medical research it is both dangerous and ineffective.

No candling. There is peroxide in the foaming drops. Although it is not hydrogen peroxide, it is Carbamide peroxide. So I guess those 2 things could have very different properties.

How do you know it's just wax? Maybe it's fluid as well. There is this stuff I've used for after swimming that gets fluid out pretty well.

It is definitely a lot of wax. The drops foam when they make contact with wax, and they foam a whole hell of a lot in there.
