Flaming Lips.
kind of a yawn choice for me. at this point, i'd say the acts which most interest me are Suicide, Dirty 3 (haven't seen them live since just after their debut LP), and David Cross. i would imagine that the Lips would bring Mercury Rev back. maybe they are friends w/ Yoshimi so the Boredoms will land on Sunday's bill.

Lips know how to put on a show! Even if yr yawning from their LP's, the perforamance as an experience is their forte.

How is this a yawn? Have you even been to a Flaming Lips show? It can turn the hardest of punk rockers into 5 year old giddy little school girls before the first song is done (in a good way, of course).

I don't know exactly what their shows were like then. I know their early shows were Butthole Surfer-esque, and their shows now are like a preschooler's acid trip, but I don't know anything about there shows in the Ronald Jones era.

everything the flaming lips have done this decade has been lame, thats just a band thats been going at it for too fucking long. but 'clouds taste metallic' is one hell of a rock album.

The Soft Bulletin is a great album. It makes me feel really cheery.
