the end of the ugly

2nd best news I've heard all year.
Chrysler is going to stop making these fuck-ugly gas guzzlers by the end of this summer. I guess it's not that big of a deal but everytime I see one I just can't help admiring how horrifically ugly they are. It's bad enough they have crap safety records and awful gas mileage. They also manage to be the ugliest cars I've ever seen, and their primary drivers are white upper middle class suburban teenage bimbos who love to cruise around in them with their tiny pet dogs. Seems like they started getting popular during the 40 Year Old Virgin, which was basically a commerical for them. What a perfect car to get rid of, Good Riddance. Hopefully Scion next? |

Outside from driving them from point a to point b, cars and what they look like, what movies they're in, their gas mileage, their safety records, etc has never bothered me in the least.

they are pretty bland to me. its funny how they illicit such strong like/dislike. i don't think they are gas-guzzlers, though. are they? they have really weak engines.

they were popular for a decade before that movie came out. not everything is dependant on mass media brainwashing.

Yeah really. Also, I know it's only the end of January, but this is really good enough news to be the "2nd best news of the year"?

I actually liked those cars. There quite different form most cars. All cars nowadays seem to be variations of the same thing.

Yeah, and remember how everybody started driving VW Beetles because of the movie Superstar!?! (Yeah, you know you are going to watch it now...)
I do think the PT's are ugly. A kind of cool concept, going for that retro look, but very poorly executed.

Fairwell to the Part-Time Cruiser! I don't personally like them at all, but I relate to what afterthefact and nefeli said.

My dad has one and got one when they FIRST came out.
Infact, they had a major push when they FIRST came out....because (even though a horrible attempt) they attempted to give that old timey feeling. Which to my parents generation, reminded them of THEIR parents cars...IE the first c ars they ever drove in. more of a nostalgia thing than anything else....but I think they're ugly. Any other mass media brainwashing bs I can defunct for ya? wait....are you calling my dad a sheep? you wanna fight! |

Also, I think you were affected by mass media brainwashing just for seeing the 40 yr old virgin in general, and thinking that movie had any real affect on society!

My friend has one. I'm pretty sure it's because he's into old cars but couldn't really get his vintage cars to a satisfactory state.
