A couple of weeks ago my wife had a dream that we went to a SY concert, and she woke up and decided that she was finally a fan. Until now, she's probably passively heard a few albums that I've had playing. And she's heard a ton of random songs, not knowing what era or album they were from.
With that in mind she has decided to listen to all the studio albums, chronologically. Pretty awesome, right?

So she really, really like SONIC YOUTH. "Burning Spear" was a standout. And "I Dreamed I Dream" which she was already familiar with.

The first Sonic Youth album I heard was Daydream Nation. That was an eye-opener for me, I can tell you.

I wish my wife would have that dream
She does actually like some SY, more Kim stuff than anything. She just doesn't like to listen to a full album of anything, because she gets bored with hearing the same artist for an extended period of time. Sometimes that doesn't mesh with me, as I am a full album kind of guy.

She listened to CONFUSION last night. She dug the creepy vibe (comapred it to a horror score). But says she liked songs on it, but didn't like it as much as a complete album as the self-titled.

that's the stuff my wife can't get into, the older stuff. She can do some sister, murray street, that stuff. and of course rather ripped.
