Okay, ignore the picture on the left and the quote at the bottom (or don't.. they're great filmmakers). In the picture on the right... WHAT KIND OF MASK IS THAT? I always see it in Japanese art and Japanese films and Japanese music videos... is it a fox or something... what is it?! Ahh!!! |

It's a creepy cat-face mask, that's what kind it is. But then all masks are creepy.

You guys are right! I typed in Japanese cat mask and this came up:
An even better picture came up too: Heh. For some reason, it never looked like a cat to me. |

The plot thickens.
This image came up when I typed it kitsune mask: Looks like a match! However, I'm thinking that the shape and design aesthetic of these masks are just popular in Japan in general, so the images above probably really are kitty masks. There are probably similar masks for all sorts of animals if I want to look. So, everyone's right. Either way, I want one. |

well i'm pretty certain the mask you posted is a kitsune mask, cats tend to depicted quite differently in traditional japanese art they have much rounder faces than the mask you posted

When I saw the picture I had to think of the character Kunimitsu of the Tekken franchise, so I typed in "Kunimitsu" on Tekkenpedia and got this:
"In Soul Calibur III, a mask very similar to Kunimitsu's mask is an unlockable item for female characters created via the 'Character Creation' mode. It is named 'Fox Mask'. It is also available in Soul Calibur IV." Definitely a Fox Mask then |
