I noticed in the related videos there is a live action Akira coming out. The trailer uses some music from the anime.

Possibly. Both the manga and the anime were so good that it makes it hard to live up to.

the problem with doing a live action akira is that if they had the kind of budget they'd need to do it properly it would need to be a hollywood film & there's no way they'd be able to pull it off without having the money people meddling with the production, i mean look at what happened with the dragonball live action film.
and if they don't have the budget for the required special effects it will be lame as hell.
