If you have foos, some spare change in your pocket and something in the bank, then you are in the top 7% of the world in terms of wealth.

more skint than ive ever been in my life.
i lost my job a week or so back, so i rely on teaching english badly to a handfull of private students which alows me to eat and maybe if im lucky i get to go out once a week. the bank back in england are withdrawing my overdraft because i dont have any money going in, which will mean massive interest rates till december. i have an interview tomorrow to work in my own personal hell. a gaijin bar that plays R&B and is full of expats and those japanese people that glow orange, wear flourescent make up and technicolour clothes- anyone whos ever been to shibuya will know what i mean, and anyone whos ever been to japan will know what kind of horrible pick up club im talking about. seeing as my japanese is still shite, i have little choice. but somehow i seem to be crazed with a sense of optimism at everything that happens....no idea why, because lately its been a whole load of shit. moneys not everything, unless you live in tokyo, then it seriously is everything. |

on a good note, ive got a good housemate who doesnt mind me being a bit late paying him, and he gives me the most amazing rent ever. even for england this price is unbelievable, and im in one of the hipest areas in tokyo. so things aint that bad. |

i have money. but as the saying goes, money does not always bring you happiness. yes i dont wake up in the night with heart palpitations and know that i am comfortable but that has its own downside. plus i dont have a job and so dont want to see it fritter away.

probably bar tender, glass collector waiter or something.
i got stuck in shibuya one night and the town is full of these kind of bars. we had no choice but to drink in one. this one. i remember just thinking that it was my living hell. but two nights a week working there plus teaching a bit of english should give me the money i need to enjoy myself a bit more. two nights of hell for 5 days of enjoyment isnt too bad. ive worked in different hells before and i spose im kinda used to it. the thing here is, i know alot of girls who i want to take out, but i just cant afford it. thats whats driving me crazy. |

well, seeing as im in japan, and its full of japanese girls, and i love japanese girls......i like most of them enough to take out already.
its when you take them out that you can see if theyre ok or not. but based on apearance....i want to go out with lots. and i can, the only thing holding me back is money, and it is fucking torture. i got 3 new students this week. so i things are looking up for the summer. the only thing with private students.....nearly half of em cancell each week cuz theyre worked to the bone by japanese companys. damn japanese companys! taking my drinking money! |

I am not rich, closer to the poor side of things. I have a job but I also have a kid on the way and exorbitant amounts of hospital bills to concern my hard earned currency

A yacht? Is that all? My gin palace could crush your yacht without me even noticing the bump.

Sure you must be talking about the Queen Elizabeth that you've had on loan from me for a couple years now?

If you count owning things that a tiny and hard-to-reach sector of the nerdiest parts of our population consider "valuable," then yes.
If you count having money, no. Not even close. |
